The MacKenzie Super Lite is an evolution of the original award winning MacKenzie. The MSL enhances the features that made the M reel an instant success: lightweight, large arbor, simple and great value. The MSL features the patented recessed star drag system, although nontraditional upon its introduction, it has proved to be a favorite among anglers the world over. The recessed arbor side bladed star knob provides quick one finger drag adjustments without changing rod hands or rolling the rod over to make the adjustment. Large diameter Cork/FXB polymer disc drag delivers a ultra smooth and low start-up inertia. The MSL has a Stealth Black polished finish with optional spool finish colors. I own an M5SL for my 6 weight Spey rod. It has a silky smooth cork drag that's found usually in higher dollar reels. It has the capacity for enough backing, so I don't need to go to use a heavier reel.
